The tribes of Native Americans who lived on the North American continent before the arrival of European explorers and settlers called themselves the People. The People enjoyed a rich culture and possessed many vivid stories, such as How Raven Lost her Colors and Why Dogs Don’t Speak, which were kept alive through oral tradition.
BellaSara.com is proud to present tales adapted from these traditional stories and make them available to all Bella Sara friends everywhere. The stories were compiled by Tom Grayson Colonnese, director of the American Indian Studies Program at the University of Washington in Seattle. They are lavishly illustrated by comic book legend Michael Wm. Kaluta and are narrated by actress Elaine Miles, known for her appearances on Northern Exposure and in Smoke Signals.
Each of the stories focuses on an animal companion in the Native Lights set. To start your collection, please accept Butterfly Girl as our gift. Other storybooks are available in the Bazaar. Look for them in the bookseller’s tent.
